How does Ricordo decide what's a trip?
Learn the simple rules Ricordo uses to turn your photos into trips, day trips and long stays.
Ricordo finds your trips on its own, from where and when your photos were taken. Nothing is uploaded to do it.
The rules
Home is the city where you take photos on the most days.
A trip starts when your photos are more than 50 km from home.
It ends when you take photos at home again, or after more than two days with no photos away.
To change your home, or how far counts as away:
Tap the gear at the top of the Atlas to open Settings.
Under Home and trips, tap Home (it shows your city).
Pick your city, then a distance under Count as away beyond: 10, 25, 50, 100 or 200 km.
Tap Set as home.
Day trips
Short outings, under a day with fewer than 10 photos, are day trips. They're shown, a little faded, but not counted. To count one:
Open the day trip.
Tap … at the top right.
Tap Count as a trip.
To stop counting it, tap Don’t count this day trip in the same menu.
Long stays
Anything over 60 days is a long stay, not a trip: most likely somewhere you lived. If you did:
Open the long stay.
Tap Why is this a trip? under its dates.
Tap I lived here.
That place becomes a past home for those dates, and the trips you took from there appear.
Tip: Tap Why is this a trip? on any trip to see its own numbers: your home, how far away the photos were, and the longest gap without photos.
