Back up and sync your edits with iCloud
Keep your trip fixes, names and favourites in your own iCloud, the same on your iPhone and iPad and back on a new device.
Ricordo works out your atlas from your photos on each device. iCloud sync carries everything you changed by hand: rename a trip on your iPhone and it's renamed on your iPad, and a new device or a reinstall picks up where you left off.
Turn on iCloud sync
Open Settings from the gear at the top of the Atlas.
Under Your library, tap iCloud sync.
Turn on Sync my edits. It's on unless you've turned it off.
To sync straight away, tap Sync now.
Your first edit syncs a few seconds after you make it. The page shows when it last synced and how many edits are in iCloud.
What's kept
Trip fixes: names, dates, merges, splits and moved photos
Your home, past homes and the countries you marked
Place names you picked, and the places you gave photos
Favourites, private photos, covers and Clean up keeps
Trip stories, your profile and your look
Not kept: your photos (they're in your library), faces and the names of people, and imported Google Photos zips, which you add again. Only your Apple ID can read what's kept.
On a new iPhone or iPad
Install Ricordo with the same Apple ID and keep Sync my edits on. Ricordo brings your edits back by itself once it has read your library.
Delete your edits from iCloud
Tap Delete my edits from iCloud.
Tap Delete from iCloud.
Your edits stay on this device, and your other devices keep theirs. If sync is still on, this device's edits go back up the next time it syncs.
