Explore your photos on the Map
Zoom from the whole Earth down to a single street, filter by year and open the photos from any place.
The Map tab opens on the Earth in 3D, turned to your home, with the countries you've been to lit up.
Find a place
Tap Map.
Zoom in by pinching, or with + and − on the right. Each place shows its best photo and how many photos it has, with a flag for countries and a badge where you live. Places join up as you zoom out.
Tap a place. A card slides up with its photos.
Pull the card up, or tap See all, to see every photo from there by month. Pull it down to go back.
Tap any photo to swipe through them.
On a country, Open goes to its page. On a continent, Zoom in takes you closer.
Pick a year
Tap a year under the search field to see only where you went that year. That year's trips are drawn on the map: flights as dashed arcs, the rest as lines. Tap All years to see everything again.
Search
Type a country, a city or a year in Search a place or year, then tap a result.
The buttons on the right
The compass turns with the map. Tap it to put north up again.
The globe or map button switches between satellite and the flat map.
The house button shows your home city.
The ? button explains how the map works.
Look Around
To see the street where you were, open Settings, tap Internet extras and turn on Look Around. Then tap a city or place on the map: where Apple Maps has street-level imagery, a preview appears before the photos. Tap it to look around. Only the place's location is sent to Apple Maps.
