Search your photos by place, date, scene or person
Find any photo by typing what you remember: where, when, what's in it or who's in it.
Search finds photos by what's in them, where they were taken and when. It all runs on your iPhone.
Search for photos
Tap the Search tab.
Type what you remember, like “beach 2019”, “food japan” or “sunset lisbon”.
Tap a trip under Trips, or any photo, to open it.
The words Ricordo understood appear as tags above the results, and photos are shown newest first.
What you can type
A country, a city or a landmark
A year, a month (“july”) or a season (“summer”)
A scene, like beach, mountains, food or sunset
The name of someone you've named in People (a first name is enough)
A trip's name
“favourites” or “videos”
Anything else in your own words, like “kids in the pool” or “red car in Rome”. You'll see photos that look like what you typed, best matches first.
Not sure where to start? Before you type, Search suggests Scenes, Places and Years from your own photos, and the people you've named. Tap one to search for it.
Tip: Got Nothing with all of that? Try fewer words. Scenes and people must all match, while places and years can be any of the ones you typed.
While Ricordo is still reading
Ricordo learns what's in each photo in the background. Until it's done, search uses places, dates and scenes, and you'll see Reading photos for search in words with how far it's got.
To search by person, turn on People and name them first. Tap the Search tab again to clear your search and start over.
