Set up Ricordo and give it access to your photos
What happens the first time you open Ricordo, and why it asks for full access to your photo library.
The first time you open Ricordo, it shows a short welcome, asks to see your photo library, and sorts it into countries, cities and trips right on your iPhone. How long it takes depends on how many photos you have.
Welcome and your look
Tap Get started, then Next through the welcome pages. Skip jumps to the last one.
On Pick a look, tap a style and a colour. You can change them any time in Settings.
Tap Continue.
Allow full photo access
Tap Allow full photo access.
When your iPhone asks, choose Allow Full Access.
Ricordo reads when and where each photo was taken, and what's in it, to find every country, city and trip. If it can only see some of your photos, your atlas will have gaps. Nothing is copied or uploaded: your photos stay in Photos.
Let it build your atlas
Keep Ricordo open while it reads your library and finds your countries and trips. It pauses when you leave the app.
When you see Your atlas is ready, tap See what Ricordo found.
Ricordo keeps recognising scenes, looking for boarding passes and spotting similar shots in the background while you explore. It's quickest while your iPhone is charging.
Check what it found
Look at the Home: row. If the city is wrong, tap Change.
For each suggested trip, tap Keep, Fix or Hide.
Tap Keep all and open my atlas.
If you didn't allow full access
If you chose Don't Allow, Ricordo shows Ricordo can’t see your photos. Tap Open Settings, tap Photos and choose Full Access.
If you limited access, open Settings in Ricordo and tap Library and import. On the Ricordo can only see the photos you selected card, tap Open Settings, then Photos, then Full Access.
When you come back, Ricordo reads the rest of your library by itself.
Tip: To see the welcome again, open Settings and tap Show the welcome again.
